After the Easter break, the trade winds and sea return with force

A summer‑type weekend is still on the cards, but from Tuesday onward wind and sea conditions will pick up across Fuerteventura.

Easter week will continue to enjoy fine weather, even improving toward the weekend, with temperatures rising for Saturday and Sunday.

The anticyclonic conditions we have been experiencing—light northern breezes, relatively calm seas, and clear skies—will change from Tuesday, the 7th, when strong northeast winds arrive, temperatures drop, and a pronounced swell develops. This outlook is supported by almost all weather models, with only a low chance of occasional showers.

  • Wind: Up to 50 km/h, especially in the areas most exposed to the trade winds—north, northwest, and southeast of the island.
  • Waves: Swell heights of up to 6 m on the north and west coasts.

All indicators suggest that this situation will last until the weekend, when both wind and sea strength are expected to subside.
