Fuerteventura Becomes Destination for TUI’s Additional Flights

Communication problems related to the war reshape the tourism map

TUI is experiencing a significant surge in interest for travel to Spain and Greece. To meet this high demand, the company is increasing capacity for the most sought‑after sun destinations in both countries with short‑notice flights for April. A total of 68 additional TUI fly flights, offering roughly 10,000 seats, will depart from Hannover, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich to Mallorca, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Crete and Rhodes.

“Currently, many people are choosing well‑known sunny destinations in Spain and Greece. With additional flights in April, we are responding quickly to the strong demand and providing greater flexibility and vacation options to our customers at the most popular destinations in the TUI fly network. This once again demonstrates the advantage of having our own airline, which allows us to react flexibly to changes in demand and swiftly add capacity to the market. However, given the already solid booking situation for both destinations, we recommend not delaying the reservation of your holidays,” said Benjamin Jacobi, CEO of TUI Germany.

Spain and Greece remain the most popular destinations for the summer of 2026, currently tied in the booking rankings. Overall, TUI’s market share in European summer bookings for 2026 has risen again, reaching almost 75 %.

In total, TUI fly operates more than 560 weekly flights, providing approximately three million seats to the most popular holiday spots in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands, Cape Verde and the Red Sea, with departures from Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hannover, Munich and Stuttgart.
